Mid Ohio AMA

The Mid-Ohio AMA round started for me on Thursday at 2 a.m. ,when I left the house on my way to the airport. Wheels up by 5:30a.m. ,after a stop in Cincinnati, arrived in Columbus at 9:30 a.m..

Drove to Lexington where I met Alex already at the track setting up. We pitted next to Mr. Parker, Billy and Ricky. These are the nicest people you will ever meet, got to try goober wheels for the first time and got fed some pretty good sausage. Alex worked hard and improved his times significantly. We had a tire issue which led to a wreck and trashed one of the bikes. Fortunately no injuries so he raced hard, including back to back Daytona Sportbike and Supersport races on Sunday. Finishes were 29th, 31st and 7th so things are getting better. Thanks to AMA and Ed Sorbo for measuring our frame after the crash and determining it was straight.

Left for home on Monday at 2 a.m. and was back in town by noon to work afternoon office hours. Got to see 2nd Lieutenant Stephanie Lazo for a couple of hours that evening, before she left for Fort Bening, Georgia. Soon it's off to Heartland Park in Kansas for the next race round. In the meantime need to get some things done around the house maintenance wise. Alex is on the road headed for Heartland and will try to fix the crashed bike. GO ARMY!!
